The stabilised grades F321 and F347 are specified for a specific reason: they resist chromium carbide precipitation at grain boundaries during prolonged exposure at temperature. Substituting plain F304 because it is cheaper and available is a metallurgical downgrade, not a commercial saving, and it usually surfaces as intergranular attack years later.
